The visually stunning live-action Mufasa: The Lion King, which features the superstar's voice and the return of industry legends Brahmanandam as Pumba and Ali as Timon, will be released on December 20, 2024, following the 2019 blockbuster The Lion King. The Telugu trailer will debut on August 26 at 11:07 a.m.

In the Telugu adaptation of Mufasa: The Lion King, Mahesh Babu Garu will play the role of Mufasa, a legendary character who has inspired many.

Film details and storyline

Barry Jenkins directs Mufasa: The Lion King, which showcases new and beloved characters. It combines live-action filming with photoreal, computer-generated images. The movie introduces an orphaned cub named Mufasa, a benevolent lion named Taka—the heir to a royal line—and their vast voyage alongside an unusual band of outcasts. Rafiki joins them to tell the story of the unlikely ascent of the beloved Pride Lands king. 

On December 20, 2024, theatres in India will screen Mufasa: The Lion King in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
