R. Madhavan stands out as one of the most adaptable actors in Indian cinema, recognized for his ability to take on a wide range of roles throughout his career, which has lasted more than twenty years. He collaborates with director Ashwni Dhir and Zee5 for the satirical thriller titled Hisaab Barabar. Esteemed actors Neil Nitin Mukesh and Kriti Kulhari will also play significant roles alongside him. The film is scheduled to make its global debut on Zee5 on January 24, 2025, and will be available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Prior to its release, the production team unveiled the trailer, immersing viewers in the captivating universe of Hisaab Barabar. The narrative revolves around the confrontation between an ordinary individual and a fraudulent con artist. Madhavan portrays Radhe Mohan Sharma, a principled and honest Railway Ticket Checker. When he notices a minor irregularity in his bank account, Sharma uncovers a vast scam, thrusting him into a shadowy realm filled with deceit, fraud, and corruption. He finds himself in direct conflict with the unscrupulous banker Mickey Mehta, portrayed by Neil Nitin Mukesh.

The tension between Sharma and Mehta develops through a series of suspenseful events, skillfully intertwining humour with incisive social critique. The film delves into the theme of how an everyday person confronts a corrupt system and a devious conman, which lies at the heart of this exhilarating story.

Director Ashni Dhir remarked that Hisaab Barabar is a distinctive fusion of drama, sharp humour, and insightful social commentary. He noted, "With a stellar cast featuring R. Madhavan, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Kirti Kulhari, the film provides a compelling examination of corruption and justice.
