It can be confidently stated that this film boasts the highest box office earnings among all Tamil releases for Pongal.

Madha Gaja Raja was initially slated to release for Pongal 2013, but due to financial troubles, remained unreleased for over 12 years. Gemini Film Circuit finally released the film for Pongal 2025, which became the most enjoyed Tamil film for the festive season.
