Mohanlal's upcoming film Thudarum is a big deal for Malayalam cinema fans since it brings him back together with Shobana after quite some time. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, this highly anticipated movie missed its January 30, 2025 release date, leaving fans on the edge of their seats to see their beloved duo back on the big screen. To amp up the excitement, MG Sreekumar, who lent his voice to a song in Thudarum, has declared that the film is 'beautiful' and promises to be a '100 percent hit.'

Thudarum's latest track, Kanmanipoove, featuring MG Sreekumar, is already racking up likes on YouTube. In a recent chat on his YouTube channel, MG Sreekumar shared his thoughts on the film's potential success.

"It's a stunning film, definitely going to be a hit. I've seen most of it, so I can say that for sure. Everything you want to see is in there—emotional moments and more," he mentioned, though he kept some details under wraps.

The National Award-winning singer did hint that the filmmakers tapped into a theme that resonates with fans who miss the classic Mohanlal. 

Sreekumar's tracks for Mohanlal

If you haven't checked out the classic Malayalam movies from back in the day, you might not know that MG Sreekumar has belted out a ton of memorable tracks for Mohanlal's films that fans still love. Some of the big hits include songs from Chithram, "Karutha Penne" from Thenmavin Kombath, and "Vel Muruga Haro Hara" from Naran.

Mohanlal and Sobhana have shared the screen in a bunch of Malayalam movies back in the 80s and 90s, including hits like Minnaram, Thenmavin Kombath, Pavithram, and Nadodikattu. They also appeared in the classic Manichitrathazhu, but interestingly, they weren't cast as a couple in that one.

On another note, the Thudarum team hasn't officially revealed the release date for the highly anticipated Malayalam film yet, but rumors suggest that the Mohanlal-led project might hit theaters in the summer of 2025.
