MAD was a blockbuster success at the box office and launched many careers. However, it reached cult status when it became available on Netflix, as the comedy and continual streaming of the film led to the creation of its franchise. The producers of Jersey, Sithara Entertainment, acted swiftly, announced MAD Square, and premiered the film on March 28, 2025.

Given that the film already had a devoted fan base, the anticipation for the film was enormous. Additionally, since the trailer was entertaining, MAD 2 experienced strong openings and concluded as a blockbuster at the box office, grossing just over Rs 70 crore. This is significant considering the film was produced for less than Rs 10 crore.

We at OTTplay were the first to announce that Netflix has secured the OTT rights to the sequel and will begin streaming MAD Square from April 25, 2025. Indeed, this has come to pass as MAD Square is now available for streaming on Netflix in Hindi and all the other southern languages. 

Kalyan Shankar helmed the movie, which revolves around a group of college friends and their tumultuous arrival in Goa. RRR notable Jr NTR's brother-in-law, Narne Nithin, portrays one of the main characters in the film, and this marks the most significant success of his career.

Jr NTR hyped up MAD 2 in Hyderabad

Jr NTR participated in a promotional event in Hyderabad, and the excitement for the film reached a new height. Ram Nithin and Sangeeth Shoban from the Oka Chinna Family series also had significant roles in this film produced by Naga Vamsi. MAD 2 is a larger success compared to MAD, and the creators experienced three times the profit. In an interview, producer Naga Vamsi mentioned that additional installments in the franchise will definitely be produced in the future.

As of today, Sithara Entertainments is preparing for the launch of their upcoming movie, Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role. Given the immense excitement surrounding this film, the OTT release is anticipated to kick off with great success. Let's wait and see what unfolds in the coming days.
