Following the success of Siddhu Jonnalagadda's DJ Tillu, Sithara Entertainments launched a comedy called MAD, starring Narne Nithin, who is Jr NTR's brother-in-law, in a leading role. Directed by Kalyan Shankar, the film turned out to be a huge hit at the box office.

Details on the release of MAD 2 on OTT platforms

Given the excitement surrounding the franchise, they decided to produce MAD 2 with a larger budget and launched an aggressive marketing campaign. Thanks to these efforts, MAD 2 had a record-breaking opening and became a box office hit. At OTTplay, we previously shared that Netflix secured the digital rights to the film for a substantial amount, putting the creators in a profitable position even before the film's release.

Now, we've learned that MAD 2 will be available for streaming on Netflix starting April 25, 2025. An official announcement will be made soon. Sangeeth Shoban, known for his role in the Oka Chinna Family Story series, stars alongside Ram Nithin, who brings a comedic touch to the film.

What's interesting is that MAD 2 is still showing in a few select theaters across the Telugu states. Producer Naga Vamsi has really hit the jackpot with this film and has announced that the franchise will keep going with more sequels in the future.

This marks Narne Nithin's second consecutive hit, and he's steadily building his reputation as an actor in Telugu cinema. Naga Vamsi first gained recognition in the industry with his major success, Jersey, featuring Nani in the lead role. Now, he's teaming up again with the same director, Gowtam Tinnanuri, for a new project starring Vijay Deverakonda.

Sithara Entertainments has established itself as the leading production house in the Telugu film industry, thanks to popular films like DJ Tillu, Tillu Square, Sir, and Lucky Bhaskar. However, with MAD 2, Vamsi has experienced profits that are three times greater. Given the massive success of MAD on OTT platforms, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of buzz MAD 2 generates.
