Lubber Pandhu is set in Trichy of Tamil Nadu and revolves around street cricket, which is common in India. The film will have some references to the late actor and politician Vijayakanth, given that Tamizharasan Pachamuthui is a fan of him. Attakathi Dinesh will be playing a fan of the late actor.
What else is releasing on September 20?
September 20 will see multiple Tamil releases. Apart from Lubber Pandhu, Hiphop Tamizha’s Kadaisi Ulaga Por, a dystopian war drama; Sathish’s Sattam En Kayil, and Sasikumar’s Nandhan are also releasing in theatres on the same day.
Meanwhile, Disney+ Hotstar has been rolling out new Tamil series in recent times. They include Uppu Puli Kaaram, Chutney Sambar, My Perfectt Husband and the recently released Goli Soda Rising. The streaming platform has also bagged the digital rights of Mari Selvaraj’s latest film Vaazhai. An OTT release date is yet to be announced for the film.
