The anticipation has finally come to an end! Following its theatrical release on February 7, 2025, Loveyapa is now available for streaming on OTT platforms. This romantic comedy features Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan and is currently streaming on JioHotstar. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film is a Hindi adaptation of the 2022 Tamil romantic comedy Love Today, which was directed by Pradeep Ranganathan, who also made his acting debut alongside Ivana.

Modern love story

Loveyapa centers on the modern relationship between Baani (Khushi Kapoor) and Gaurav (Junaid Khan). Similar to many couples from Generation Z, their lives are heavily intertwined with their mobile devices, yet they are deeply in love. The situation becomes complicated when Baani's father, Atul (Ashutosh Rana), a traditional and somewhat doubtful individual, decides to challenge the durability of their bond, leading to tension.

Atul presents a unique challenge: Baani and Gaurav must exchange their unlocked phones for an entire night. This arrangement grants them access to each other's texts, photos, social media accounts, and all other content on their devices. The aim is to reveal any hidden truths or secrets that might suggest a lack of trust or compatibility.

Initially, the couple feels confident, believing they have no secrets to hide. However, as they delve into each other's phones, they uncover surprising aspects of one another's lives. Baani discovers Gaurav's suggestive messages to other women, while Gaurav finds out about Baani's past relationships and some questionable online connections. These revelations lead to a series of arguments and conflicts.

Analysis of love in the digital era

The film explores how easily misunderstandings can arise in today's digital landscape, where context is often absent and appearances can be deceptive. It also highlights the pressure on young individuals to maintain a flawless online persona, even when it starkly contrasts with reality.

As the night progresses, Baani and Gaurav are compelled to confront their own insecurities and vulnerabilities. Box office performance

Domestically, Loveyapa made only ₹4.25 crore, a disappointing opening weekend. Its worldwide gross, projected to reach ₹8.80–12 crore, ended its theatrical run.
