What is Lover about?

Lover stars Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya in the lead roles. The film revolves around a young couple who are in love, but are different from each other. Lover throws light on the nuances in relationships that can drive away from each other. The film also focusses on how social media takes the centre stage in shaping up relationships of today’s times.

Lover shows Manikandan and Gouri as a young couple in love. However, with the erratic and toxic behaviour shown by the man, their relationship edges towards a rough patch. Upon its theatrical release, Lover received exceptional reviews with many praising the lead characters’ performances. At the same time, the film’s writing also won praise for not glorifying toxic masculine behaviour.

Team of Lover

Lover is directed by Prabhuram Vyas who has earlier made web series Livin. Apart from Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya, the film also stars Kanna Ravi, Geetha Kailasam, Saravanan, Harini, Harish Kumar, and others. The film is produced by Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the banners Million Dollar Studios, and MRP Entertainment. Sean Roldan has scored the music with Shreyaas Krishna handling the cinematography. Barath Vikraman is the editor.

The film, which touches upon toxic masculinity, and emotional abuse inflicted on partners, boasts a clean screenplay and matured writing that warrants for a sure shot watch.
