However, the latest gossip suggests that he might be aiming to take this project to the next level by bringing in a bigger star, with Hindi actor Aamir Khan in the mix.

Is Lokesh Kanagaraj teaming up with Aamir Khan for Irumbu Kai Mayavi?

Lokesh Kanagaraj, famous for hits like Kaithi, Vikram, and Master, has quickly risen to prominence in Tamil cinema. He's become one of the most in-demand directors lately. After collaborating with big names like Kamal Haasan and Vijay, he's now set to direct Rajinikanth in his upcoming film, Coolie.

The director has always been vocal about his passion for Irumbu Kai Mayavi, which he considers his dream superhero project. He’s mentioned several times that he pitched the idea to Suriya, who played Rolex in Vikram. Now, it seems like Lokesh is taking things up a notch, with whispers suggesting he might be looking to cast Hindi superstar Aamir Khan for the film. Recently, Suriya commented on Irumbu Kai Mayavi, expressing uncertainty about whether the project would return to him or go to "an even bigger actor." The film tells the story of a hero who loses his arm and battles evil with a metal prosthetic.

Neither Lokesh nor Aamir Khan has addressed the latest rumors. There are also talks that Aamir might make a cameo in Coolie.
