The makers of the Malayalam film, Little Hearts, dropped a major update today (June 6) a day ahead of its theatrical release. They have announced that the romantic comedy drama has been banned in GCC countries due to undisclosed reasons.

Producer disappointed over Little Hearts’ ban

According to a statement released by the film’s producer, Sandra Thomas, “Unfortunately, the reason for the ban cannot be disclosed at this time. Some speculate that there is a mysterious element in the film that led to the ban.” The cast and crew of Little Hearts have been busy for the past few weeks promoting the film across the state, as well as in Gulf countries.

“This news comes as a huge disappointment as we put our heart and soul into making this film,” Sandra wrote. Shane Nigam and Mahima Nambiar are playing the lead roles in this movie, which will hit the big screens in the USA, the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada tomorrow (June 7).

Filming for this romantic comedy took place mostly in the hilly regions of Idukki, under the direction of Aby Treesa Paul and Anto Jose Perera. Baburaj, Jaffer Idukki, Shine Tom Chacko, Aima Rosmy, John Kaippallil, Renji Panicker, Maala Parvathi, Parvathy Babu, and Ramya Suvi are among the supporting cast of Little Hearts. This movie's screenplay was written by Rajesh Pinnadan.

The romantic comedy Little Hearts is said to take place in a beautiful, rural setting. It is expected that the film will also look at how modern relationship dynamics are changing.

The teaser features Shane Nigam's character Sibi, a cardamom farmer, persuading his father Baby to pursue his love interest. A series of humorous incidents are hinted at as the father and son try to get married to their love interests. On the other hand, Shine Tom Chacko is portrayed as a young man who proposes a girl for marriage but is rejected. A hilarious glimpse into the lives of a father and son was also provided by the trailer.
