With most of the theatres running major releases from the past weeks like Amaran, Lucky Baskhar and Kanguva, the Tamil cinema will be going back to laying low, as the upcoming week will see a mix of medium budget films to some prominent OTT releases. Here are what you can watch in the coming week.

Nirangal Moondru – Theatres (November 22)

Nirangal Moondru is an upcoming hyperlink thriller drama, starring Atharvaa, Rahman and Sarathkumar in the lead roles. The film is written and directed by Karthick Naren who has made films like Maaran and Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru. It also stars Ammu Abirami, John Vijay and others in prominent roles.

Jolly O Gymkhana – Theatres (November 22)

Jolly O Gymkhana is an upcoming Tamil film starring Prabhudheva, Madonna Sebastian and others. The film is directed by Shakti Chidambaram and is expected to be a dark comedy commercial entertainer. Abhirami, Yogi Babu, Yashika Anand, Redin Kingsley, and others are also part of the film. Prabhudheva is set to act as a corpse in the film.

Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale – Netflix (November 18)

Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale is a documentary film which will focus on the life of actor Nayanthara. The docu film is helmed by Amrith Krishnan, and will include exclusive interviews of film fraternity members who have worked with Nayanthara. The actor herself, will also share the ups and downs she had faced, along with the wedding footage with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan.

Kishkindha Kandam – Disney+ Hotstar (November 19)

Kishkindha Kandam is a mystery thriller Malayalam film which is directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and written by Bahul Ramesh. The cast includes Asif Ali, Aparna Balamurali and Vijayaraghavan among others. The film revolves around a reserve forest known for inhabitation of monkeys. With strange events occurring, it leads to forest officials to probe it.

Vera Maari Office S2 – Aha Tamil (ongoing)

The second season of Vera Maari Office, a series set against the backdrop of working space, takes a horror comedy turn. The star ensemble includes RJ Vijay, Janani Ashokkumar, VJ Pappu, Soundariya Nanjundan, Raveena Daha, Jaiseelan, Vikkals Vikram, and others. It is directed by Jaswin J. Shivakanth, who has served as the creator and producer of the series.

Uppu Puli Kaaram – Disney+ Hotstar (ongoing)

Uppu Puli Kaaram is an ongoing series, which revolves around an elderly couple living with their four grown-up children. However, their lives take a turn when the father’s son from another mother comes to live with the family, leading to drama and confusion. With the couple having their own secret about their new son, and the latter being a famous actor, the series is a family drama focusing on the life of each family member.
