Amaran – Netflix (December 5)

Amaran is headlined by actor Sivakarthikeyan and stars Sai Pallavi as the female lead. Based on the life of the late Major Mukund Varadarajan, the film revolves around a soldier’s dedication to serving the Indian Army. The film is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and backed by Kamal Haasan.

Pushpa: The Rule – Theatres (December 5)

Although a Telugu film, Pushpa: The Rule will be dubbed in Tamil and released in theatres across Tamil Nadu. Sukumar directed the film, which stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles. Pushpa revolves around the titular Red Sanders smuggler, who slowly grows to become the kingpin of the trade.

Uppu Puli Kaaram – Disney+ Hotstar (ongoing)

Uppu Puli Kaaram is an ongoing series, which revolves around an elderly couple who run an eatery and live with their four grown-up children. However, their lives take a turn when the father’s son from another mother comes to live with the family, leading to drama and confusion. With the couple having their own secret about their new son, and the latter being a famous actor, the series is a family drama focusing on the life of each family member, the children’s love lives, and how their careers and ambitions cross paths.

Sshhh – Aha Tamil (December 6)

Sshhh is an anthology film which comprises of four segments, two of which have been released. Sshhh segments revolve around topics such as lust, sex, and desire, which are often considered taboo to talk out loud. Srikanth, Ineya, Soniya Agarwal, Aishwarya Dutta, Mime Gopi, and many other new faces feature in the segments, directed by Prithivi Adithya, Vaali Mohan Das, Harish GY, and IB Karthikeyan.

Vera Maari Office – Aha Tamil (ongoing)

The second season of Vera Maari Office, a series set against the backdrop of working space, takes a horror comedy turn. The star ensemble includes RJ Vijay, Janani Ashokkumar, VJ Pappu, Soundariya Nanjundan, Raveena Daha, Jaiseelan, Vikkals Vikram, and others. It is directed by Jaswin J. Shivakanth, who has served as the creator and producer of the series.
