Latest Kannada OTT releases (Sept 30 – October 6) to watch on Prime Video, Hotstar, Netflix, Sony LIV, theatres and more

The lull in the Kannada film industry continues this week too, with no major release slated for theatres or OTT; at least, for the latter, there’s been no announcement. There have been rumoured acquisitions of a few films and considering that the festive season is almost upon us, there maybe a few surprise releases along the way.
Here’s a look at the Kannada original and dubbed films that will be in theatres from September 30 to October 6. 2024
Bhairadevi
Radhika Kumaraswamy plays the title role of Bhairadevi, an avatar of goddess Kali, who, in the form of an aghori, is called in to deal with an evil spirit haunting a police officer and his family. The film, directed by Shri Jai, also stars Ramesh Aravind, Anu Prabhakar Mukherjee and Rangayana Raghu, among others.

The GOAT
Thalapathy Vijay played a retired agent of an elite anti-terrorism squad, who is forced back into action when a past mission comes back to haunt him and his team. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film also has Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Meenakshi Chaudhary, among others on the cast. The GOAT is said to be the Tamil superstar’s penultimate film before he takes the plunge into active politics. It will be available with Kannada audio.

Thangalaan
Chiyaan Vikram and Parvathy Thiruvoth starred, among others, in Pa Ranjith’s film about a tribal leader and revolves around the lives of people in the Kolar Gold Fields. The film is expected to drop on OTT this week.

Purushothamana Prasanga
Back in March this year, the Kannada comedy directed by Devdas Kapikad, Purushothamana Prasanga was released in theatres. It follows the protagonist, whose big dream is to strike rich in Dubai. Whether or not he is able to achieve this is what the film is all about.
