Latest Kannada OTT releases (November 11 – November 17) to watch on Prime Video, Hotstar, Netflix, Sony LIV, theatres and more

Last week, there was a lull at the box office in terms of new theatrical releases, with the Deepavali outings getting another few good days, but OTT had a string of big-ticket titles across platforms, like, Vettaiyan, Devara and A.R.M. This week, the tables have turned, there are a few major theatrical releases, but nothing worthwhile on OTT.

Here's a look at the Kannada original and dubbed films releasing in theatres and on OTT in the week of November 11 to November 17

Kanguva: A Mighty Valiant Saga

The Tamil original action fantasy flick directed by Siva, has Suriya in two avatars – a fearless tribal warrior from ancient times and a shadow cop in modern day. A prophecy and resurrection are central to the plot of Kanguva, as two men, divided by time, work to fulfil a centuries-old promise. The film, which also stars Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, among many others, is releasing in 2D and 3D across languages, including Kannada.

Matka

Varun Tej leads the Telugu period crime drama based on the life of Matka gambler Ratan Khetri. Written and directed by Karuna Kumar, the film, which will have a Kannada-dubbed version in theatres, follows events between 1958 and 1982 and explores Varun’s character Vasu’s life over 24 years, with details about how he set up Matka gambling. Meenakshi Chaudhary, Norah Fatehi, Saloni Aswani, Kishore, P Ravishankar, among others are on the cast.

Bhairathi Ranagal

Shivarajkumar’s much-awaited Mufti prequel, Bhairathi Ranagal, is the Kannada original release of the week. The Century Star reprises his role from the Narthan directorial, in the film that will tell audiences how Bhairathi Ranagal came to be the fearsome crime boss of Ronapura, who is also considered a saviour for the people of the region. Rukmini Vasanth is paired with Shivarajkumar in the film that also stars Rahul Bose, Madhu Guruswamy, Devaraj, Chaya Singh, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Pratap Narayan, Vasishta N Simha, Avinash, among others.
