Latest Kannada OTT Releases (January 13-19): Must-Watch Films and Series on Prime Video, Netflix, and More

The major releases during Sankranti at the Karnataka box office predominantly featured films from Telugu cinema, alongside a Malayalam thriller that garnered significant attention. Additionally, there were two Kannada films: Sharan’s Choo Mantar, which experienced a strong opening weekend following a slow start, and Nimma Vasthugalige Neeve Javaabdaararu, an anthology showcasing several newcomers that received favourable reviews, yet faced challenges at the box office.

This week, there are also a few direct Kannada releases in theatres, one of which was originally scheduled for January 10 but has been postponed.

Here’s a look at the Kannada films – original and dubbed - releasing in theatres and on OTT in the week of January 13 to January 19

Sanju Weds Geetha 2

Director Nagashekar's 'spiritual sequel' to the acclaimed 2011 film Sanju Weds Geetha encountered a slight setback recently, as its scheduled release on January 10 was postponed. However, the project is now back on schedule. Starring Srinagar Kitty and Rachita Ram, this romantic drama delves into the challenges and struggles experienced by the sericulture industry.

Raja Roja

Divakar, known for his role in Bigg Boss Kannada, takes the lead in Raja Roja, a film directed by Uday Prem. The narrative explores the familial and societal obstacles encountered by a farmer who relocates to the city in pursuit of a more promising future. As he grapples with the tension between contemporary demands and traditional principles, he and his wife undertake a transformative journey that aims to inspire change in their lives. Will they achieve enduring happiness and triumph over the challenges they face?

Kanna Muchhe Kaade Goode

Atharva Prakash portrays Ram, a private investigator who inadvertently uncovers a murder case prior to the police's involvement. Charged with the responsibility of resolving the case, Ram must also confront the mystery of his missing girlfriend, Jaanu, who becomes unexpectedly connected to the investigation.

Sathish Ninasam portrays Arun, the proprietor of a bungalow reputed to be haunted. The events that unfold when he and his companions visit the house constitute the central narrative of the story.

Joju George's inaugural directorial venture is an action thriller that performed reasonably well at the box office. The film will feature Kannada audio.
