Even though a lot of films are released on digital platforms each week, some much-anticipated ones still lack an OTT release date. Despite these movies' adequate box office performance, their digital release has been delayed for unknown reasons. These include Prithviraj Sukumaran’s survival drama Aadujeevitham, Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam and Akhil Akkineni’s Agent.

OTT release of Prithviraj’s Aadujeevitham

After an incredibly successful theatrical run, Blessy's film, Aadujeevitham, also known as The Goat Life, starring Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran, is about to go live on streaming. The movie, which debuted in theatres at the end of March, is anticipated to be available for streaming in a variety of languages on Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, and Netflix.

The makers have not yet provided any details on this. They had previously made suggestions that the film would be longer on the OTT version. Blessy had previously disclosed that the film's original runtime was three hours and thirty minutes, and that the team had to remove at least half of that duration for the theatrical release. But those might be in the OTT version.

Agent and Lal Salaam to stream on popular platforms

Digital streaming partner Sony LIV had confirmed that they would be granting access to the film Agent, starring Akhil Akkineni, after numerous attempts to get it to an OTT platform. Mammootty featured in a pivotal role in the Surender Reddy-directed spy thriller, which debuted in theatres on April 28. Since May, there have been rumours circulating about the film's impending OTT debut. But every time, it was moved up, and for the longest period, there was no word on when it would be released.

The extended delay in the digital release of Rajinikanth's Tamil film Lal Salaam left fans curious. Tamil films typically make their way onto streaming services four weeks after they first hit theatres, according to industry trends. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the movie was released in theatres on February 9 and stayed off of streaming services for a longer period of time than anticipated. Netflix and Sun NXT are reportedly planning to stream this film.
