Laggam is a low-budget Telugu film starring Sai Ronak in the lead role. The family drama was released on October 25, 2024, but unfortunately ended as a flop at the box office. Despite having a good concept, the film failed to attract the family audience at the ticket counters. Laggam was removed from theaters within just a week and struggled to find buyers for its digital rights.
Laggam OTT platform details are here
Film | OTT platform | OTT release date |
Laggam | Aha, OTTplay Premium | Nov 22, 2024 |
However, Aha, known for supporting small films, stepped in and acquired the digital rights of Laggam at a very nominal price. According to the latest update, the film will be available for streaming on Aha starting November 22, 2024. The announcement was made by Aha today, accompanied by a vibrant new poster.
The film features Sai Ronak, Pragya Nagra, Rajendra Prasad, Rohini, LB Sriram, and Raghubabu in key roles, with Ramesh Cheppala directing the project. Sai Ronak’s performance was well-received and appreciated by viewers, but it wasn’t enough to save the film, which ended as a disappointment at the box office.
Recently, films that underperform at the box office have found a second life on OTT platforms. For instance, the Telugu film Bhale Unnade starring Raj Tarun, which flopped in theaters, garnered solid viewership on ETV Win. Similarly, the makers of Laggam are optimistic that it will attract the family audience when it begins streaming on Aha on November 22, 2024.
Laggam ended as a box office failure in theaters
The film progresses at a slow pace in the first half but picks up with some decent moments in the second half. Produced by Venu Gopal Reddy, the film has now reached a safe zone financially, thanks to the OTT deal.
Laggam tells the story of a young software engineer whose wedding takes an unexpected turn due to unforeseen circumstances. The plot revolves around how the protagonist resolves these issues. It remains to be seen how Laggam will perform on Aha in the coming days. Stay tuned for more updates on this project.
