L2 Empuraan box office collection day 10: Prithviraj Sukumaran's third directorial venture, L2 Empuraan, featuring Mohanlal, experienced an increase in performance on Saturday compared to Friday. As reported by Sacnilk, the film has garnered a net collection of ₹94.12 crore over its ten-day period.

The trade website reported that L2 Empuraan made an estimated ₹2.97 crore net on its second Saturday, taking the total collection to ₹94.12 crore net. The Malayalam film opened to ₹21 crore collection, earning ₹11.1 crore and ₹13.25 crore on its first Saturday and Sunday. It made ₹84.35 crore net in India in its first week, making ₹3.9 crore on its second Thursday and ₹2.9 crore on its second Friday. As of day 6 on Tuesday, L2 Empuraan’s collections have seen a slow dip, but they seem to hold steady now, and there are even chances of better numbers coming Sunday.

Controversy over scenes in L2 Empuraan

L2 Empuraan includes depictions of the 2002 Gujarat riots, which have sparked considerable discussion following its release. In response to criticism, the filmmakers have proactively modified or eliminated certain scenes and names. Actor-politician Suresh Gopi remarked in parliament that these adjustments were made without any influence from the ruling party. As reported by PTI, the Enforcement Directorate recently carried out raids on the film's producer, Gokulam Gopalan, uncovering violations related to foreign exchange. Additionally, the Income Tax Department issued a notice to Prithviraj regarding a previous case from 2022.

L2 Empuraan narrates the tale of an enigmatic character named Stephen Nedumpally, also known as Khureshi Ab’raam, who discreetly operates a syndicate aimed at dismantling drug cartels. The film features prominent performances by Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and Abhimanyu Singh in key roles. Additionally, a third installment in the trilogy, titled L3 The Beginning, is set to continue the narrative and will introduce a new antagonist portrayed by Rick Yune.
