L2 Empuraan advance booking: The advance bookings for Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2 Empuraan, featuring Mohanlal, have already surpassed the first-day earnings of its predecessor, the 2019 movie Lucifer. As reported by Sacnilk, the sequel has raked in ₹9.6 crore gross in India to date and is anticipated to have a huge opening.

The site mentioned that L2 Empuraan has secured ₹9.6 crore in advance bookings in India and ₹30 crore globally in pre-sales. Prithviraj posted a poster stating that the film has already earned over ₹58 crore worldwide during its opening weekend.

The movie racked up more than 645,000 ticket sales in just 24 hours, including an impressive 96,140 tickets sold within the first hour on BookMyShow. To give you some perspective, Lucifer made ₹6.10 crore net on its opening day in India and grossed ₹77 crore throughout its entire run.

Breaking it down by language, it has sold 488,781 tickets in Malayalam, 10,801 in Malayalam IMAX, 14,497 in Telugu, 4,205 in Tamil, and 302 in Kannada. The figures for Hindi are still pending.

L2 Empuraan Overview

In addition to Mohanlal and Prithviraj, L2 Empuraan features a talented cast that includes Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Eriq Ebouaney, Jerome Flynn, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

The film, produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies, is set to explore the intriguing tale of the enigmatic Khureshi Ab'raam, also known as Stephen Nedumpally, portrayed by Mohanlal. After facing delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, writer Murali Gopy took the opportunity to enhance the film's scope.

L2 Empuraan is scheduled to hit theaters on March 27, available in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. Being one of the most expensive productions in Mollywood, it will be interesting to see how well the film performs at the box office.
