L2 Empuraan, the third directorial venture of Prithviraj Sukumaran, is one of the most-awaited upcoming projects in Malayalam cinema. The movie, which stars Mohanlal in the lead role, is a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer. As reported earlier, the actor-filmmaker and his team are currently busy with the shooting of the mass action entertainer in Muli, Gujarat. However, the grapevine now suggests that Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are planning to take an unexpected schedule break due to unforeseen weather changes.

L2 Empuraan shoot put on hold due to rainfall?

If the reports are to be believed, director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team have put the Gujarat schedule of L2 Empuraan on hold due to unexpected rainfall in the state. This unforeseen weather change has impacted the ongoing schedule and created a short delay. However, recent updates suggest that the Gujarat schedule of the Mohanlal starrer is not cancelled yet. The makers are planning to resume the shooting immediately after the rainfall stops. But the team members have not reacted to these reports yet.

Notably, Prithviraj Sukumaran shared an update on the unforeseen weather changes at the location in an Instagram post. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is evidently worried about the shooting getting stopped due to the weather conditions, shared a picture of a heavily clouded sky, with a rainbow. “Dear weather Gods... I really need a hand in getting this done! #L2E #EMPURAAN.” But later, it was confirmed that the team is proceeding with the schedule, which is expected to be wrapped by August 2024.

L2 Empuraan release plans

After wrapping up the Gujarat schedule, director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are planning to take a short break from filming before resuming the foreign shoot. Later, Prithviraj is expected to resume the next foreign schedule of the Mohanlal starrer, in Abu Dhabi. Along with the superstars, Indrajith Sukumaran and Tovino Thomas, who play the roles of Govardhan and Jatin Ramdas in the film, they are also expected to be a part of the Abu Dhabi schedule of L2 Empuraan.
