L2 Empuraan, the highly anticipated Mohanlal starrer directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, is nearing the final stages of shooting. The cast and crew members recently wrapped up the longest schedule of the film in Gujarat. Later, Prithviraj and the team moved back to Kerala’s capital city Thiruvananthapuram, where the new schedule of the Lucifer sequel started rolling recently. Reportedly, L2 Empuraan has a few more schedules pending, which include both the regional and foreign portions.
L2 Empuraan's pending schedules: Here’s what we know
According to the recent updates, director Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is currently busy with the Thiruvananthapuram schedule, has made a perfect plan for the pending shoot of Mohanlal’s film. The ongoing schedule in the capital city is expected to be wrapped up on Thursday, October 17, 2024. After wrapping up the Thiruvananthapuram portions, the L2 Empuraan team is expected to shift to Kuttikkanam, Kerala, for a new schedule. The entire Kerala portion of the film will be wrapped up in 20 days.
After wrapping up the Kerala portions, Prithviraj Sukumaran and team L2 Empuraan are planning to shift to Mumbai, for a quick schedule. With the upcoming Mumbai schedule, the entire shoot inside the country is expected to wrap up. Later, the long-pending Abu Dhabi schedule of the film will begin. The reports suggest that this is a brief schedule, that will be wrapped up in less than a week. At last, the final schedule of Mohanlal’s film will begin in Morocco, by the second or third week of November 2024.
L2 Empuraan release plans
If things go as planned, the entire filming of L2 Empuraan will be wrapped up by the end of November 2024. Director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are expected to kickstart the pre-production works of the film, soon after the shoot wrap. The grapevine suggests that the actor-filmmaker is planning to use minimal CGI for the Mohanlal starrer, which is entirely shot in real location, with practical effects. If things go as planned, the Lucifer sequel will hit the theatres on March 28, 2024.
