L2 Empuraan, the newly released Malayalam action thriller featuring Mohanlal in the lead role, is preparing for its debut on OTT platforms. This film, which has generated considerable controversy and achieved significant success at the box office, will be available for streaming on JioHotstar. It is set to launch on April 24 in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

L2 Empuraan OTT Release Details: Viewing Information for Mohanlal and Prithviraj’s Film

Following the 2019 political action thriller Lucifer, Prithviraj and Mohanlal have collaborated once more for the second installment of the trilogy, titled L2 Empuraan. The film premiered in theaters in March and quickly became one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of the year.

After its successful theatrical run, the film is now set to make its streaming debut. JioHotstar has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for Empuraan, with the streaming commencing on April 24 in major South Indian languages, as announced on social media by the platform on Thursday.

Written by Murali Gopi and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Empuraan faced controversy upon its release. The film received criticism from right-wing groups for certain scenes that were reminiscent of the 2002 Gujarat riots. In response to the backlash, the filmmakers made several adjustments, and Mohanlal issued a lengthy apology. These modifications ultimately led to the cancellation of IMAX screenings due to the expenses associated with updating the film.

Empuraan boasts a talented cast, including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Pranav Mohanlal, among others.
