L2 Empuraan box office collection on day 14: The film L2 Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and featuring Mohanlal in the lead, has successfully navigated controversies and performed robustly at the box office, generating over ₹102 crore. This Malayalam film is also impacting the performance of Salman Khan's Sikandar, negatively affecting its box office success.

L2 Empuraan box office run

According to Sacnilk, the film earned ₹1.15 crore on its second Wednesday (day 14), bringing its cumulative total to ₹102.35 crore. On that Wednesday, Empuraan achieved an overall occupancy rate of 13.77 percent in the Malayalam language.

On day 14, the box office performance experienced a slight decline of 16.13%, following a collection of ₹1.30 crore on day 13, which suggests a gradual slowdown in the film's revenue. The film recorded earnings of ₹1.55 crore on day 12 and ₹3.85 crore on day 11. On its tenth day, it generated ₹3.35 crore.

This Malayalam film is successfully competing against Salman Khan's Sikandar, challenging the Bollywood film and establishing itself as a formidable contender at the box office.

Sikandar's box office performance has been steadily decreasing, with the film earning ₹4.75 crore on its second Sunday (day 8), followed by ₹1.75 crore on day 9 and ₹1.50 crore on day 10. Featuring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, this Hindi film, which premiered on March 30, has shown a consistent downward trend with no indications of recovery.

About L2 Empuraan

This film serves as the second installment in the Lucifer franchise. Titled L2 Empuraan, it follows the journey of Stephen Nedumpally, also known as Khureshi Ab’raam (portrayed by Mohanlal), as he returns to Kerala upon discovering that his brother, CM Jathin Ramdas (played by Tovino Thomas), has formed an alliance with an extremist named Baldev (Abhimanyu Singh). Stephen decides to pause his efforts against drug cartels to address pressing matters at home. His close associate, Zayed Masood (Prithviraj), along with his sister, Priyadarshini (Manju Warrier), have personal stakes in the unfolding events.

In response to criticism regarding scenes that depicted the 2002 Gujarat riots, several segments of the film were edited, and character names were altered. Additionally, the film's production team has encountered raids by the Enforcement Directorate and has received notices from the Income Tax department in various matters.
