L2 Empuraan's global box office earnings on its second day have been remarkable. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, this action thriller is setting new records internationally. On Saturday, the production company Aashirvad Cinemas announced the film's box office performance via Instagram. Within just two days, L2: Empuraan, featuring Mohanlal, has surpassed ₹100 crore in worldwide collections.

The accompanying text proclaimed, “100 crore club making history.” It was shared with the message, “The Cicada himself. #L2E #Empuraan has exceeded ₹100 crore at the global box office in under 48 hours, establishing new standards in film history. A sincere thank you to everyone for contributing to this remarkable achievement! Your love and support have made this success attainable.”

According to Sacnilk.com, a total of ten Malayalam films, including L2 Empuraan, have surpassed ₹100 crore in global gross revenue to date. L2: Empuraan has achieved this milestone at the fastest pace. On its opening day, the film grossed ₹67.50 crore worldwide, with an overseas collection of ₹43 crore reported on Thursday. By the second day of its release, the film had earned approximately ₹32.5 crore globally.

For Mohanlal, this marks his third film to cross the ₹100 crore threshold, following Pulimurugan and Lucifer. Director Sukumaran also reached the ₹100 crore mark with Lucifer. As noted by Sacnilk.com, L2: Empuraan is projected to become the fifth highest-grossing Malayalam film in history. The upcoming Eid holiday on Monday may propel the film to become the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time within its first week, potentially surpassing the lifetime worldwide total of ₹241 crore gross achieved by Manjummel Boys.
