Kunchacko Boban is the first to acknowledge how crucial Bobby and Sanjay's film Traffic has been in revitalizing the second chapter of his career. He and producer Listin Stephen are gearing up to start work on Baby Girl soon.

This upcoming movie is set to begin filming in March and will be Arun Varma’s second directorial project, following the successful thriller Garudan, which starred Suresh Gopi and Biju Menon and received great reviews.

‘Kunchacko’s Baby Girl is a gripping thriller inspired by real-life events’

In a chat with OTTplay, Arun opened up about the upcoming movie. “Despite what the title suggests, it’s actually a thriller,” he mentioned. “It draws inspiration from several real-life events. That’s about all I can share for now.”

Bobby and Sanjay have been credited for the screenplay of Rosshan Andrrews and Shahid Kapoor’s recent release, Deva, which is based on their own script from Mumbai Police. However, it’s been a while since they worked on a Malayalam film. Their last projects, Tovino Thomas’ Kaanekkaane and Dulquer Salmaan’s Salute, were both direct-to-OTT releases on Sony LIV.

“Baby Girl will be their first script in quite some time,” Arun added. “They initially pitched me a really intriguing idea that felt fresh. This was right after I wrapped up Garudan. We went through several drafts before we nailed it down, which is why it took a bit longer.”

The film features Sangeeth Prathap, Lijomol Jose, and Abhimanyu Thilakan. While the poster suggests a police investigation, Arun hasn’t confirmed whether Kunchacko will be portraying a cop in Baby Girl.

On the other hand, the actor will don the police uniform and boots in his upcoming film Officer on Duty, directed by newcomer Jithu Ashraf and written by Shahi Kabir, who also worked on Nayattu and Joseph. This movie, which includes Vishak Nair, Jagadish, and Priyamani, is scheduled to release in theaters on February 20.
