Following his successful performances in films such as Good Night and Lover, Manikandan, recognized for his diverse acting skills, appeared in the 2025 blockbuster Kudumbasthan. This family drama premiered in theaters in January and has now transitioned to the OTT platform. Kudumbasthan is currently available for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium applications in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

According to reports, the total box office collection for Kudumbasthan stands at approximately Rs 28 crore globally. To date, it ranks fourth among the highest-grossing Tamil films released this year, following Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi, Pradeep Ranganathan's Dragon, and Madha Gaja Raja featuring Vishal and Sundar C.

Upon its release, Kudumbasthan received favorable reviews. The film is a family drama set in Coimbatore, centering on a young man who serves as the primary provider for his family, which includes his wife and parents. This project marks the directorial debut of Rajeshwar Kalisamy, who collaborated with actor Prasanna Balachandran on the script and screenplay. Balachandran is notably recognized for his role in Kudumbasthan.

The film features a diverse cast, including Saannve Megghana, Guru Somasundaram, director R Sundarajan, Prasanna Balachandran, Kanakamma, Jenson Diwakar, among others. Viewers have commended the performances of the cast, as well as the screenplay and humor throughout the film.
