Antony Varghese's latest film, Kondal, is now available on digital space. Netflix started streaming the action movie, which debuted on huge screens during Onam in September. The actor's ardent fan following from his previous films created a great deal of excitement for this movie.
Kondal streaming on Netflix
Unlike other Onam releases like Ajayante Randam Moshanam and Kishkindha Kaandam, Kondal's online streaming service was announced immediately after its theatrical release. However, the Antony Varghese movie did not do well in theatres, thus it is available on OTT before the other two movies. Aside from Malayalam, the action drama is currently available for streaming on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. Antony Varghese's prior films, RDX and Chaaver, are available on Netflix and Sony LIV respectively.
Kondal, an action drama mostly shot in sea
The life of Manuel, the primary character, is the centre of the story. A big fight that started in his Anchuthengu community drove him out of Munambam Harbour to start building on St Anthony's boat. Both Manuel's life and the lives of those who are working on the boat are altered by unforeseen circumstances. There are some intense action scenes in this movie that were mostly shot at sea. There are times when Antony's portrayal in Kondal brings up echoes of his earlier films, such Lali in Ajagajantharam and Vincent Pepe in Angamaly Diaries.
The actor's mass avatar, according to OTTplay's review, directs this revenge thriller, which stands out in terms of action choreography. However, the film has little emotional aspects to engage viewers. The film's makers have done an impressive work of capturing the lives of those who work on the boat.
Kondal is directed by Ajit Mampally and produced by Weekend Blockbusters, the same production company that bankrolled the hit film, RDX. The supporting cast of the film includes Shabeer Kallarakkal, Kannada actor Raj B Shetty, Nandu, Manikanda Rajan, Pramod Veliyanadu, Prathibha, Gauthami Nair, Usha, Siraj, and Rahul Rajagopal.
