The makers of Antony Varghese's upcoming film, Kondal, have dropped a character poster today (August 15). It gives a glimpse of Kannada star Raj B Shetty’s character in this action drama, which is all set to hit the big screen in Onam. He makes a tough appearance in the film, but it is not clear if the actor is portraying an antagonist or another important part.

Kondal to be an Onam release

September is the official start of Onam season, and expectations are high following a remarkable year for Malayalam cinema, filled with unexpected hits and lofty expectations. The producers have confirmed that this film will open in theatres during Onam. If released on the slated date, Kondal will be running in theatres along with Tovino Thomas’ Ajayante Randam Moshanam.

At first glance, the movie appears to be an action drama about revenge that takes place in a seaside town. It also implies that there will be some suspenseful scenes mixed in with a realistic depiction of the residents of the coastal community. The short clip begins with a background voice saying, "There's a place between life and death, the high seas!" "Here, what's more frightening than its depth is a gust of wind lashing in every direction," he says, alluding to thrilling action sequences.

A one hundred feet boat was constructed especially for the film in Kureepuzha, Kollam. Recently, a 20-foot shark was added to the assortment of movie props. Almost seventy days of filming were mostly spent at sea.

Filming for this project, produced by RDX's producer Sophia Paul under the Weekend Blockbusters banner, wrapped up in April. Ajith Mampally, a rookie, is the director of the action drama. A debutante will play the lead female role. Gautami Nair has another significant role in this movie. In this film, Shabeer Kallarakkal also has a significant role. This is Weekend Blockbusters' seventh production following the enormous success of RDX.
