Updates on Asif Ali's Malayalam film, Kishkindha Kaandam, has been eagerly awaited by movie enthusiasts and fans of the actor. With a new poster today (August 22), its makers have now officially confirmed the date of its theatrical premiere. On September 12, the film—which also stars Aparna Balamurali and Vijayaraghavan in key roles—will be released in theatres.
On August 17, the movie's teaser was released, indicating that Onam 2024 would see its release. Should Kishkindha Kaandam be released on the scheduled date, it will play in theatres alongside the Mammootty film Bazooka and the historical drama Ajayante Randam Moshanam, starring Tovino Thomas.

The one minute and twenty second clip hints to the plot and main characters of the movie. The story is set in Kallepathi, a monkey-inhabited area of deep jungle. Asif Ali and Vijayaraghavan play a father and son with a strained relationship. Aparna appears to be a curious young woman staying at their house. She might or might not be related to them. All in all, the teaser presents a few intriguing sequences featuring characters shrouded in mystery. In the coming days, a trailer is anticipated.
Kishkindha Kaandam to be an Onam release
The makers of the family entertainer had not revealed a specific release date earlier, but hinted that it is supposedly getting ready for its September theatrical debut during the Onam season. The film is expected to be a holiday cinematic treat.
Kishkindha Kaandam's filming was finished in 2023. The crew started shooting the film in July of last year, using Hyderabad and Kerala as filming sites. The film is helmed by Dinjith Ayyathan, who also directed Kakshi: Amminippilla, which is available for streaming on Sun NXT and stars Asif in the major part.
The film features important characters from Jagadish, Ashokan, Nishan, Vyshnavi Raj, Major Ravi, Nizhalkal Ravi, Shebin Benson, Kottayam Ramesh, Bilas Chandrahasan, Master Aarav, and Gibin Gopinath. Joby George produces the movie under Goodwill Entertainments' banner.
