While everyone knows he is working on a film titled King, which also stars his daughter Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, and he has even confirmed the same, there has been no substantial update on the movie ever since. King Release Date Revealed?

For those unfamiliar, King is a film written and directed by Sujoy Ghosh, known for Kahaani and Jaane Jaan. The film is said to be a high-octane, action-packed drama, with Shah Rukh Khan once again donning an action avatar, starring alongside his daughter Suhana Khan. According to Pinkvilla, Shah Rukh Khan and the team have finalized Eid 2026 as the release date for King. Filming is set to begin in January 2025 in Mumbai. "The first schedule of King commences in Mumbai in January, followed by a marathon schedule in Europe. The makers have conducted multiple rounds of scouting in Europe to identify fresh locations that will add scale to King. The film stars SRK in the titular role alongside Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, and Abhishek Bachchan," revealed a source.

The insider also provided more details about the future schedules, which are expected to wrap up by August or September 2025. The team will be traveling between different locations for the shoot. "The idea is to film the action sequences at real locations as well as in studio setups, creating the perfect blend of realism in the storytelling. The makers aim to introduce a new style of action with Shah Rukh Khan in King, and the superstar is excited to venture into this new territory," the source added.

Shah Rukh Khan to Have an Eid Release After 13 Years

With King set to release on Eid 2026, it marks Shah Rukh Khan’s return to an Eid release after more than a decade. The last movie of his to release on Eid was Chennai Express in 2013, which also starred Deepika Padukone. Chennai Express was a huge hit, and considering that King will mark SRK’s return after a glorious 2023, the Box Office is expected to go crazy.
