For Lionsgate, John Wick director Chad Stahelski and his production firm 87Eleven Entertainment are remaking the upcoming action flick Kill in English. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and set to premiere on July 4, Kill is set to release soon after this announcement. One of the first mainstream Hindi-language films to join with a Hollywood studio for a theatrical release in North America and the UK is this weekend's rollout, according to Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions.

Chad Stahelski's praise for Kill

Stahelski said in a statement that Kill is one of the most vivid, wild, and creative action movies he has seen recently. As many people as possible should watch Nikhil's films because of the unrelenting action sequences he delivers. The opportunity to work with Nikhil, Karan, Apoorva, Guneet, and Achin on an English-language version is thrilling. They have high expectations, and he can't wait to meet them.

The film centres on army commando Amrit (Lakshya), who discovers the secret engagement of his betrayed love Tulika (Tanya Maniktala). In an attempt to sever the planned marriage and reunite with his beloved, he decides to board a train to New Delhi. A group of masked bandits starts attacking unsuspecting train passengers, changing the course of his adventure. Amrit decides to confront the bandits head-on in order to protect the people around him.

Variety describes Kill as both the original, shockingly graphic action showcase and a singularly intense Hindi-language martial arts film. If Stahelski is interested in creating a remake, the body count is high in John Wick territory.
