Following a film such as Vikrant Rona, which was produced during the pandemic amidst numerous uncertainties and necessitated extensive world-building, Kiccha Sudeep sought to pursue a project that was more straightforward and could be completed swiftly. It took some time for him to finalize the project he intended to undertake, and once he did, he was optimistic about completing it quickly and moving on to another endeavour. However, that plan did not unfold as he had hoped, resulting in a delay for the film. Nevertheless, it is now poised for release in theatres on Christmas Day.
The Max censor certificate discloses a significant plot point in Kiccha Sudeep’s action drama.
In his promotional interviews for the film, Sudeep has been quite clear that he accepted the role due to his admiration for director Vijay Kartikeyaa’s storytelling, which presented a narrative devoid of unnecessary embellishments, particularly in relation to his status as a star. The only aspect Sudeep wished to omit was a flashback involving a romantic subplot; otherwise, he was fully convinced.
Elaborating on this, the Kannada superstar expressed that the essence of the character, Arjun Mahakshay, was what truly resonated with him. Since his character, referred to as Max, is set to assume responsibility at a station the following morning, there is a specific rationale behind his presence and his reactions to the unfolding events. Sudeep noted that the insight into what motivates Max's behaviour in the film was a decisive factor for him.
The actor emphasizes that Vijay Kartikeyaa’s storytelling is structured in a way that introduces a significant event early in the film, but it is the subsequent developments that create an exhilarating experience. “Curiosity continues to build until the very last shot, and it is only at the conclusion that the audience gains a comprehensive understanding of the film,” he remarks.
Regarding Kiccha Sudeep's role in Max, it is noteworthy that there is no romantic subplot for his character, and the reasons for this choice are explained.
Max features a talented cast including Samyukta Hornad, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sunil, Pramod Shetty, Ugramm Manju, and Sukrutha Wagle, with music composed by Ajaneesh Loknath. The film is set to be released by KRG Studios in Karnataka, with the Tamil and Telugu versions scheduled to premiere in theatres on December 27.
