Director Anup Bhandari's upcoming Kannada film, Billa Ranga Basha, featuring Kiccha Sudeep, has faced some delays. However, the project officially started filming on Wednesday, much to the excitement of Sudeep's fans. This marks another collaboration between Sudeep and Anup Bhandari, who previously worked together on Vikrant Rona. The film is being produced by Niranjan Reddy and Chaithanya Reddy.

Billa Ranga Basha is back in action

Director Anup Bhandari announced, “We’ve officially kicked off the shoot for Billa Ranga Baasha. Right now, we’re in the first 20-day schedule, which includes one of the film's key action scenes. Our production design team has been busy creating several sets, and the first one is now finished and ready for use.”

The film's first look has also been unveiled, showcasing Sudeep in a dramatic snowy mountain setting, looking tough and intense. The story is set in the year 2209 AD, featuring images of famous landmarks like the Taj Mahal and the Statue of Liberty in a state of decay.

What’s the film all about?

The film is reportedly being produced on a grand scale, showcasing a futuristic aesthetic. Sudeep mentioned that it promises to be ten times more thrilling and action-packed than Vikrant Rona. The director also noted that after this 20-day shooting schedule concludes, they plan to take a break before diving into the second phase of filming. This pause will give them a chance to enhance preparations and work on the set.

Kiccha Sudeep's most recent release was Max in December 2025. Previously, director Anup Bhandari shared that Niranjan Reddy expressed interest in collaborating after Vikrant Rona, and they had met during the post-production of HanuMan, which Reddy's team produced. When Bhandari revealed that his next project would also feature Kiccha Sudeep and described the concept of Billa Ranga Basha and its unique setting, Reddy was excited. They aim to create this next project on a large scale. Billa Ranga Basha is expected to be a two-part film, and audience anticipation is running high.
