The long-awaited moment for Kiccha Sudeep's fans has finally arrived. Nearly a year after completing the filming of his previous project, Max, which was released during Christmas 2024, and over four months since he committed to delivering at least two releases annually, Sudeep has officially begun work on his next film, Billa Ranga Baashaa.

Kiccha Sudeep's Billa Ranga Baashaa goes on floors

On April 16, Anup Bhandari, the director of Vikrant Rona, along with Sudeep, commenced filming, a milestone they celebrated with a striking poster that has generated considerable excitement among fans and cinema enthusiasts. The poster showcases Sudeep in a rugged appearance, with snow and fragments of ice clinging to his facial hair, and light bruises visible on his nose and cheek. Additionally, a fierce blaze is reflected in the goggles resting on his forehead. The harshness of his surroundings is evident, aligning with the film's tagline – First Blood.

Billa Ranga Baashaa was intended to be Sudeep’s inaugural collaboration with Anup, who gained recognition for the sleeper hit Rangitaranga. However, the two decided to postpone the project at that time, as they believed that the ambitious nature of the film necessitated additional preparation time.

Subsequently, they worked on Vikrant Rona, after which Sudeep transitioned to Max, while Anup focused on the pre-production elements of Billa Ranga Baashaa. This included securing a production partner to ensure the film was produced at the appropriate scale. Sudeep’s Kiccha Creations will collaborate with PrimeShow Entertainment, the producers of last year’s successful Telugu film, Hanu-Man.

Billa Ranga Baashaa, a film set two centuries ahead, will be filmed entirely on custom-built sets, with the production team reportedly leasing 4 acres on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The movie will be produced in both 2D and 3D formats and is planned for a multi-lingual release. Although the team has not disclosed a specific release date, it is anticipated that the film will premiere in theatres during the summer of 2026.
