The significant update of the week pertains to the highly anticipated film Max, featuring Kiccha Sudeep, which now has an official OTT release date. Although the streaming platform has not made an official announcement, reports indicate that the Vijay Kartikeyaa-directed film will be available for streaming on Zee5 starting February 22. This information surfaced shortly after Zee Network released a promotional video for the upcoming television premiere of this action-packed thriller.

Recently, Zee Kannada disclosed the television broadcast schedule for Max, accompanied by a new promotional clip. The film is set to air on February 15 (Saturday) at 7:30 PM for television viewers. This promotional release has sparked speculation regarding the possibility of an earlier OTT release, although this has yet to be confirmed by the streaming service.

Max, produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu in collaboration with Sudeep’s Kiccha Creations, marks the actor's first release in over two years, featuring him once again in a police role. In this film, he portrays Max, short for Arjun Mahakshay, the titular character who is a fiery police officer recently reinstated after a suspension.

However, on the eve of his return, an incident unfolds at the police station, drawing the city's most notorious criminals to threaten the safety of Arjun's fellow officers. As tensions escalate, Arjun must rise to the occasion and confront the danger head-on.

The film features a musical score by Ajaneesh B Loknath and includes performances by Ugramm Manju, Sunil, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Samyukta Hornad, Sukrutha Wagle, Ilavarasu, Redin Kingsley, Vamsikrishna, Sharath Lohithashwa, and Vijay Chendoor, among others.

It enjoyed a successful run in theatres, reportedly achieving gross collections of approximately Rs 75 crore, thus becoming the highest-grossing Kannada film of 2024. Sources indicate that Sudeep's role as co-producer allowed him to benefit from the theatrical revenues, while Thanu would receive the non-theatrical earnings, resulting in a mutually beneficial arrangement for both parties.
