Karan Johar to Reveal Kesari Chapter 2 Tomorrow?

For those who may not be aware, Karan Johar recently indicated that Dharma Productions is supporting a project he regards as one of his most significant achievements. While he did not specifically mention the film's title, he shared a message on a saffron-hued background accompanied by saffron heart emojis in the caption, strongly suggesting it pertains to Kesari Chapter 2. What he did confirm is that the film will be directed by a debut filmmaker who has dedicated four to five years to this project.

In his latest update today, Karan officially announced that the film is indeed Kesari Chapter 2, with a formal announcement scheduled for tomorrow. Dharma Productions also commemorated the sixth anniversary of Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra’s historical drama Kesari, a film that resonated profoundly with audiences. While celebrating this milestone, the production company subtly confirmed the sequel with an Instagram post stating:

Karan Johar stated: “I am immensely proud to announce that we are introducing our 24th debutant filmmaker to Hindi cinema! (A note for critics: 90% of them are ‘outsiders’). I seldom write notes prior to a film's release, but there are a few projects that excite, energize, and inspire me as much as this one has. Our collaborative producer and debut director have dedicated four years to this film's journey.”

He continued: “The director has focused solely on his work, tirelessly overcoming pandemic-related delays and other unexpected challenges. I am inspired by the cast and crew who have consistently supported and nurtured the film. While commercial success is unpredictable, I can sincerely say that this film stands as one of Dharma’s proudest achievements. I express this both as a filmmaker and as an audience member. Reports suggest that the debut director is Karan Singh Tyagi, who previously contributed as a writer for Amazon Prime Video’s Bandish Bandits. This confirms that Kesari Chapter 2, featuring Ananya Panday, Akshay Kumar, and R. Madhavan, is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and has been rebranded under Dharma Productions.
