About Kesari franchise

Kesari Chapter 2 serves as the continuation of the original film that debuted in 2019. This sequel explores the events that culminated in the historic Battle of Saragarhi, which took place in 1897 between 21 Sikh soldiers from the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army and a formidable force of 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen. Parineeti Chopra had a significant role in the first installment. The release date for Kesari Chapter 2 in theaters is set for April 18.

About the Jallianwala Bagh massacre

The Jallianwala Bagh massacre occurred on April 13, 1919, when a significant assembly of individuals convened at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab, to protest the Rowlatt Act and the detention of pro-Indian leaders Saifuddin Kitchlew and Satyapal.

In reaction to this public demonstration, General R.E.H. Dyer encircled the crowd with Gurkha and Sikh infantry regiments. He subsequently commanded them to open fire on the gathering, which continued until their ammunition was nearly depleted, at which point they were instructed to cease firing. The tragic event resulted in thousands of casualties, both dead and injured.
