Kesari Chapter 2 has hit over ₹55 crore globally at the box office after just four days. The courtroom drama directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, featuring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, has made ₹56.60 crore since its release. This achievement puts it ahead of Shahid Kapoor’s Deva in terms of total earnings.

According to the trade site, Kesari Chapter 2 raked in ₹34 crore net and ₹40.60 crore gross in India since its release on April 18. It also earned ₹16 crore from international markets, bringing its total collection over four days to ₹56.60 crore. After surpassing Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency, these figures indicate that Kesari Chapter 2 has outperformed Shahid Kapoor’s Deva, which made ₹55.8 crore globally during its entire run. Now, the film has to compete with Jaat, Akshay’s earlier release, along with Sky Force, Sikandar, and Chhaava.

In Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay takes on the role of lawyer C Sankaran Nair, who challenges the British Crown following the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy. Madhavan portrays his rival lawyer, Neville McKinley, while Ananya plays Dilreet Gill. The film draws inspiration from the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. Produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, it serves as a spiritual sequel to Akshay's successful 2019 film, Kesari.

Akshay shared his thoughts on Instagram, saying, 'You might have heard many tales, but this one is a whirlwind. The story of Shankaran Nair stunned me because we were unaware that someone took the entire British judiciary to court after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. I'm not just acting in Kesari Chapter 2 as an artist, but as an Indian. This isn't merely a film... It's an unfinished reckoning, a painful memory... And ultimately — it's justice. Kesari Chapter 2 is now showing in theaters near you.
