Kesari Chapter 2's first day box office earnings: The period drama featuring Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan had a slow opening at the box office. As per Sacnilk, Kesari Chapter 2 raked in ₹7.75 crore net (₹9.25 crore gross) in India on its first day. It also pulled in ₹5.75 crore from international markets, bringing its total global earnings on opening day to ₹15 crore. This figure surpassed Sunny Deol's action flick Jaat, which debuted last week with ₹13.50 crore worldwide. However, Kesari Chapter 2 still trails behind Akshay's earlier release, Sky Force, which launched with over ₹20 crore globally in January.

The good news for Kesari Chapter 2 is that its earnings picked up as the day went on. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film received fantastic reviews and was well-received by audiences. This positive buzz helped boost its performance after a slow start. Sacnilk noted that while the morning screenings had an occupancy rate of 12-13% across India, that number jumped to nearly 28% for the evening shows. The filmmakers are now hoping for an even stronger turnout on Saturday to help the film bounce back.

This historical courtroom drama marks the directorial debut of Karan Singh Tyagi and is produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films.
