Kesari Chapter 2 Day 1 Box Office Forecast: Akshay Kumar and Madhavan's Film Expected to Earn ₹8 Crore
21 days ago | 5 Views
The historical drama Kesari Chapter 2, featuring Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan, is scheduled for release on April 18. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film centers on the legal proceedings that ensued after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1912. With its notable cast and the established Kesari brand, the film has generated significant anticipation. However, whether it can replicate the box office success of its predecessor is yet to be determined.
Kesari Chapter 2 box office prediction
The Advance ticket sales for Kesari Chapter 2 commenced on Wednesday, just two days prior to its release. However, the sales have been relatively sluggish thus far. The film has garnered nearly ₹1 crore in gross pre-sales for its opening day. When including reserved seats for same-day bookings, this total increases to ₹1.88 crore. With less than 12 hours remaining for advance bookings, it is expected that the figures will rise, yet the outlook does not appear particularly encouraging for the film featuring Akshay Kumar and Madhavan.
Industry experts anticipate that Kesari Chapter 2 may debut with a box office collection ranging from ₹5 to ₹8 crore on its first day. The most optimistic projections suggest a domestic net revenue of approximately ₹8.50 to ₹9 crore for day one, while more conservative estimates indicate it could be slightly above half of that amount.
How Kesari 2 fares against recent releases
If Kesari 2 does open at single-digit collections this Friday, it will be lower than Akshay's previous release, Sky Force. The aerial actioner had an opening day domestic collection of over ₹13 crore. Similarly, Sunny Deol's Jaat also opened at ₹9.50 crore in India last week. Kesari 2 might lose to both or just edge ahead of Jaat. However, the one advantage of Kesari 2 is that unlike Jaat and Sky Force, it isn't a mass entertainer. The courtroom drama is a patriotic saga backed by content, and such films do pick stronger via word of mouth. The film reportedly also has a lower budget than the other two, which should play in its favour.
