Kesari: Chapter 2 Crosses Rs 100 Crore Milestone, After Sunny Deol’s Jaat Dominates the Box Office

It has been quite a delay, but Akshay Kumar's Kesari: Chapter 2 has ultimately earned Rs. 100 crores. Indeed, it has displayed a comparable pattern to Sunny Deol's Jaat and has joined the prestigious Rs. 100 crore club, though this occurred only after the second weekend and on a global scale. Jaat initiated the trend, and Kesari 2 is following in its footsteps.

Kesari 2 finally enters Rs 100 crore club, but worldwide

Aitraaz actor Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2 has successfully generated Rs. 100 crores in its second weekend, although this figure refers to the global Box Office total. The film grossed Rs. 93. 50 crore by Saturday, as reported by Sacnilk. On Sunday, it made an additional Rs. 10 crore, bringing the Box Office earnings to surpass the Rs. 100 crore milestone.

The trend set by Sunny Deol's Jaat

Gadar 2 actor Sunny Deol's Jaat initiated the trend of crossing the Rs. 100 crore milestone worldwide after the second weekend. Kesari 2 merely followed this trend. Salman Khan's Sikandar was the first film to reach Rs. 100 crore after its second weekend. However, for Sikandar, the film achieved Rs. 100 crore net following its second weekend, thereby leading the pack.

Ground Zero struggles in single digits

While Kesari 2 has generated Rs. 100 crore globally (almost Rs. 70 crore net), Emraan Hashmi's Ground Zero is struggling by remaining in single-digit earnings. The film, featuring Azhar actor Emraan Hashmi in the leading role, has collected Rs. 5. 20 crore at the Box Office.

Kesari 2's current competitors at the Box Office

Kesari 2 competes directly with Emraan Hashmi's Ground Zero, but considering how the film is performing, there is hardly any competition. Pratik Gandhi's Phule is also in theaters and is earning at a similar rate as Ground Zero. The toughest competition arises from Aamir Khan-Salman Khan's cult classic Andaz Apna Apna, which has been re-released in theaters. Therefore, the audience turnout is split, benefiting almost none of the films specifically.
