Even with so much content out there and endless options, movie buffs always take a moment when John Wick comes up. The franchise has expanded into shows and spin-offs, keeping fans hooked. Still, there's been no solid news about what’s next for the main series starring Keanu Reeves. The anticipation continues, and everyone’s wondering what’s in store for Baba Yaga after his last appearance, where it looked like he was done for. The creators have been pretty quiet, sharing only some vague hints and thoughts from the team. But now, Keanu Reeves has finally shared his thoughts.

Keanu Reeves talks about John Wick 5.

Keanu Reeves stepped into the assassin role of John Wick back in 2014, quickly becoming a fan favorite known as Baba Yaga. Fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting for news about John Wick: Chapter 5, but updates have been pretty few and far between. In a chat with Comicbook, Reeves offered a glimmer of hope, mentioning he wouldn’t completely dismiss the idea of coming back to the franchise.

“You can never say never, but my knees right now are saying, ‘You can’t do another John Wick,’” Reeves shared. “So, my heart does, but I don’t know if my knees can do it.” Even if his knees are starting to give him trouble, his enthusiasm for the role remains strong. Fans can look forward to seeing Keanu make a short appearance as John Wick in Ballerina, which is set to hit theaters in June 2025.

Chad Stahelski talks about John Wick 5.

Chad Stahelski, the guy behind the John Wick series, chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about the possibility of a John Wick 5. He said, “The real deal is, you can’t really top John Wick: Chapter 4. You just can’t. That’s it. That’s the conclusion. That’s where we wrapped things up.”

Stahelski mentioned that while developing ideas can be a fun creative process, creating another film would need a whole new plot. “In the past three years, I’ve come up with three or four different takes on John Wick 5. They were all different approaches to the story, but it’s more of a mental challenge for me,” he shared.

“It wouldn’t connect to the storyline of [John Wick: Chapter 4]. As for Chapter 4, I think we’ve reached our peak. That’s my high point. We wrapped it up nicely. I look back at it now and feel really satisfied, but we wouldn’t want to try to top it. It would need to be a totally different story.”

The John Wick Universe Now Available for Streaming

You can catch all the John Wick films on Lionsgate Play if you have an OTTplay Premium subscription. The Continental: From the World of John Wick is currently available on Amazon Prime Video. Plus, there's a spin-off called Ballerina featuring Ana de Armas, which is scheduled to release in theaters on June 6, 2025. There's also another series in the works titled John Wick: Under the High Table, but we don't know yet which streaming service will host it.
