The makers of Malayalam upcoming film, Katha Innuvare, revealed that the film will hit the big screen in Onam 2024. This was confirmed with a first look motion poster of the movie, which stars Biju Menon and Methil Devika in lead roles. Katha Innuvare, directed by Vishnu Mohan, marks the acting debut of the renowned dancer. Vishnu’s previous work was Unni Mukundan-starrer Meppadiyaan, which won a National Award.

Using their social media accounts, Mammootty, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kunchacko Boban, and Unni Mukundan unveiled the motion poster today (August 14).

Actors including Nikhila Vimal, Hakeem Shahjahan, Anusree, Anu Mohan, Siddique, Ranji Panicker, Krishnaprasad, Appunni Sasi, Kishore Sathya, and Jordy Poonjar are also featured in significant roles in the movie. Vishnu Mohan bankrolled Katha Innu Vare under the banner of Vishnu Mohan Stories. The movie's camera work was handled by Jomon T John.

Director Vishnu stated in an interview with Cinema Express that a filmmaker's second film is very important because it shows that the person is not a "one film wonder." Hence, he said that instead of taking risks, I decided to play it straight with Kadha Innuvare."

To elaborate on the movie, Vishnu is a story about pure love. We would like you to avoid watching the movie if you have never fallen in love. Such a person doesn't seem to exist. I think everyone has experienced love at some point in their lives. That's the reason I think it is a plausible movie," he said.

Other Onam releases in 2024

If the movie is released in the said time, it will play in theatres alongside Tovino Thomas-starrer Ajayante Randam Moshanam and Antony Varghese Pepe’s action drama, Kondal. Mammootty’s Bazooka and Joju George’s Pani are also expected to hit the big screen during the same time. Barroz, directed by Mohanlal, was originally scheduled to open in theatres as an Onam special in September 2024, but the release date has been rescheduled once more.
