Karthi and director Lokesh Kanagaraj, renowned for their collaboration, are preparing to join forces once again for the forthcoming action film Kaithi 2. This eagerly awaited sequel to their 2019 film Kaithi is anticipated to commence production shortly after the director wraps up his current project, Coolie, featuring Rajinikanth. Recently, music composer Sam CS, known for his work on Pushpa 2, confirmed his involvement with Karthi and Lokesh Kanagaraj for Kaithi 2.

Sam CS Officially Joins Kaithi 2: A New Musical Chapter Begins

In a recent interview with a prominent media outlet, Sam CS, who contributed additional background music for Pushpa 2, revealed his collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Karthi. The accomplished composer stated that he has joined the technical team for Kaithi 2, which is set to be the fourth instalment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). For those unfamiliar, Sam CS previously worked with Karthi and Lokesh Kanagaraj on the original Kaithi.

Earlier, during a media interaction, director Lokesh Kanagaraj provided significant insights regarding Kaithi 2, describing it as a ‘peak LCU’ film that will include all major characters from the Lokesh Cinematic Universe in pivotal roles. Notably, Karthi and his elder brother, actor Suriya, who portrayed Rolex in Vikram, hinted at a potential onscreen reunion for this highly anticipated project.

If the schedule proceeds as planned, Kaithi 2 is expected to begin filming by mid-2025. Karthi will reprise his iconic role as Dilli from the original film. Additionally, Narain, Harish Uthaman, Arjun Das, George Maryan, and others from the first instalment are likely to return to their respective roles. Special appearances by Suriya, Kamal Haasan, and Thalapathy Vijay are also anticipated.

For those interested in revisiting the original film, the 2019 Tamil blockbuster Kaithi is currently available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, with the Hindi dubbed version also accessible.
