Actor Karthi sustained a leg injury while filming his upcoming project, Sardar 2, which is the sequel to his successful 2022 film, Sardar. According to Times Now, the incident occurred during the shooting of a crucial scene. As a result, production has been temporarily suspended for one week to allow the actor time to recover.

The report indicates that Karthi was injured while filming an action sequence in Mysuru. The production team promptly transported him to a hospital, where medical professionals recommended a week of rest. Consequently, the filming schedule has been put on hold until he is fully healed.

Filming is expected to resume after a week, contingent upon his recovery. It has been reported that approximately 80% of the filming has already been completed, and the team remains optimistic about finishing the remaining scenes promptly.

Recently, the climax of Sardar 2 was filmed at a studio in Chennai, featuring scenes with Karthi and SJ Suryah. The action sequence was choreographed by Chetan Ramshi D’Souza, the stunt coordinator from the Malayalam film Aavesham.

About Sardar 2

Regarding Sardar 2, director PS Mithran returns for the sequel, which commenced production in 2024. The filming had previously been interrupted when a stuntman tragically fell to his death on the third day of shooting.

In Sardar, Karthi portrayed dual roles as Agent Chandra Bose ‘Sardar’ and his son, Inspector Vijay Prakash. The sequel will see him reprise these characters. The narrative follows a disgraced Indian spy who returns from exile to thwart the launch of a dubious water company. The original film was among the highest-grossing releases of 2022.

Alongside Karthi and Suryah, Sardar 2 features Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, and Rajisha Vijayan. The film is produced by Prince Pictures, with music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
