On Wednesday, the creators of Kantara: Chapter 1 posted a video on Instagram to put an end to the speculation about the film's release being delayed. The video kicked off with a fan's question that said, "Bro, is Kantara: Chapter 1 postponing its release date?" The response was a simple "No," shown in various languages, all while the title track of Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati played in the background. Along with the video, the makers added, "No doubts, no delays :) The epic tale, #KantaraChapter1, premieres on October 2nd, 2025."

Fans couldn't contain their excitement for the film's release in the comments. One fan said, "Rishabh anna is trending on Insta!" Another added, "Thank goodness! Can't wait for it." Many fans also asked for more updates about the film, with one suggesting, “Please share new posters, character designs, promos, and something new!”

Kantara Overview: Chapter 1

The upcoming film serves as a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara, featuring Rishabh in the lead role. The teaser for this prequel dropped in November 2023. It kicks off with Rishabh asking viewers if they can perceive the ‘light’ that reveals both the past and the future. His character, Shiva, is shown staring at the moon before making an entrance in a striking new persona. The teaser highlights his fresh look, showcasing long hair, a toned body, and a trishool in his hand.

Recently, the production team filmed an impressive battle scene that included 500 skilled fighters and nearly 3,000 extras. This sequence is expected to be one of the film's standout moments. Produced by Hombale Films, the movie is set in the era of the Kadambas of Banavasi and features Jayaram, Kishore, and Jayasurya in significant roles.
