Regarding the OTT rights for Kannappa, there has been considerable speculation recently about a potential shift in the film's release date due to delays in securing these rights. In today's landscape, streaming platforms significantly influence theatrical release schedules, and Kannappa is no different. In response to these rumors, Vishnu provided clarification during a recent interview.

"There has been a delay in finalizing the OTT rights agreement, but this is not the reason for any postponement of the release date. We are anticipating a considerable offer for the digital rights. Three major OTT platforms were already vying for the rights, and now an additional well-known platform has entered the competition. The deal is nearly complete, and we will make an official announcement shortly," Vishnu stated.

Kannappa has Mohan Babu, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, and Mohalal in cameos

Kannappa also features cameos from Mohan Babu, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, and Mohanlal. This project is one of Vishnu's most ambitious to date and includes his father, Mohan Babu, in a significant role. The film will be released in multiple languages, including Hindi and all major South Indian languages, establishing it as a true Pan-India venture.

Meanwhile, fans are eagerly anticipating the trailer's release. Vishnu mentioned that editing the trailer has proven to be quite a challenge due to the involvement of numerous stars. "We have been discussing the trailer for the past two months. Several versions have been created, and finalizing one that adequately represents all the actors and their respective fan bases has been a significant undertaking. However, we will finalize the version soon," he shared.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa features prominent performances by Sarath Kumar, Prabhu Deva, and Mukesh Rishi. With considerable anticipation building around the film, it is yet to be determined which OTT platform will acquire its digital distribution rights.
