Kannappa, a Telugu historical film featuring Vishnu Manchu in the titular role, is set to premiere in theaters on April 25. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film is inspired by a narrative and screenplay crafted by its lead actor, depicting the life of Bhaktha Kannappa, a hunter and warrior who transformed from an atheist, known as Thinnadu, into one of Lord Shiva’s most devoted followers, ultimately offering his eyes as a testament to his faith.

The second teaser of Kannappa was unveiled during a live event in Mumbai, attended by Akshay Kumar, who portrays Lord Shiva, and Madhoo. This teaser has now been made available to the public, showcasing additional powerful cameos from renowned actors Mohanlal and Prabhas.

In the film, Mohanlal takes on the role of Kirata, a tribal chief recognized as the ‘Master of Pashupatastra,’ while Prabhas embodies the divine protector Rudra, who operates under Lord Shiva’s command and serves as a guide through both past and future. The teaser also introduces Kajal Aggarwal as Goddess Parvati, who questions how Kannappa could evolve into a devotee, given his previous disbelief.

During the teaser launch, Vishnu shared that Prabhas agreed to participate in the project without hesitation after a request from his father, the esteemed actor Mohan Babu. Conversely, Akshay initially declined involvement in the film multiple times but was eventually persuaded by the team’s persistence.

The cast of Kannappa also features Sarathkumar, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmaji, Brahmanandam, Arpit Ranka, Preity Mukundhan, Aishwaryaa Bhaskaran, Devaraj, Sampath Ram, and Siva Balaji, among others. The film's music is composed by Stephen Devassy, with cinematography by Sheldon Chau. It is reported that the production budget is approximately Rs 100 crore. Kannappa will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam.
