Kannappa stands as Vishnu Manchu's most esteemed film to date, showcasing a variety of superstars in cameo appearances. Notably, Akshay Kumar portrays Lord Shiva in this production. The filmmakers unveiled his character's appearance today, and Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to express his sentiments regarding his role, stating: "Stepping into the sacred aura of Mahadev for #Kannappa. Honored to bring this epic tale to life. May Lord Shiva guide us on this divine journey. Om Namah Shivaya."

Akshay Kumar presents a vibrant and tranquil appearance in the initial poster as Lord Shiva. According to reports, the Bollywood actor adhered to a rigorous diet and embraced a spiritual approach while embodying Mahadev. He filmed for a week last year for the project Kannappa and expressed great admiration for the visuals and the ultimate portrayal of his character.

Rebel Star Prabhas is set to make a special appearance in the film, although his look has not yet been disclosed, adding to the anticipation. Additionally, renowned actor Mohanlal from Malayalam cinema will also feature in a cameo, with his appearance having been revealed a few weeks prior. Produced on an extravagant scale by Vishnu Manchu, the film aims to be a visual feast, with no expenses spared. The inclusion of Akshay Kumar is a significant highlight, as he reportedly accepted the role enthusiastically after learning about its importance in the narrative.

The promotional campaign commenced in Bangalore with a press interaction conducted in Kannada. While previous portrayals of the character Kannappa have been delivered by icons such as Shivrajkumar and Krishnam Raju, Vishnu assures that his interpretation will be entirely distinct. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film's director noted that Akshay Kumar's cameo occurs at a pivotal point in the storyline, promising to evoke strong emotions among the audience.

Sarath Kumar is set to take on a significant role in the film, with the choreography of the songs being handled by Prabhu Deva. Kajal Aggarwal will portray the character of Parvati Devi, marking her third project in collaboration with Vishnu Manchu. The esteemed actor Mohan Babu, who is Vishnu's father, will also feature prominently in this film, which has been filmed extensively in New Zealand.

Additionally, Arpit Ranka and Preity Mukundhan are included in the cast. The release date for Kannappa is scheduled for April 25, 2025. Vishnu Manchu has organized grand events in the near future, and for one of these occasions, he plans to invite Prabhas as the chief guest.
